A 40-year timeline of campaigns, one-shots, and eras
A high-level view of the games I’ve run—organized by decades and major chapters. Use it as a map to jump into the Games archive or revisit favorite memories in the Gallery.
How to read this timeline
This page is intentionally summary-first. Each era highlights what changed at the table—systems, play style, and the kinds of stories we chased. When you’re ready for the full details (years run, players/characters, and synopses), head to Games and browse by system.
Eras
Four decades at the table
A quick tour through the major phases—what we played, what we learned, and what stories stuck.
The Early Years (1980s)
First campaigns, first long arcs, and the joy of learning the rules by playing. This is where the table’s traditions started—recaps, maps, and the first “we’ll remember this forever” moments.
Expanding Worlds (1990s)
More systems, bigger casts, and longer-running plots. We experimented with tone—heroic fantasy, gritty survival, and the occasional comedy session that became legend.
Refining the Craft (2000s)
Tighter pacing, clearer campaign goals, and more intentional character spotlights. This era is about making sure every player gets a turn in the spotlight—and every arc earns its ending.
Modern Play (2010s–Today)
A mix of campaigns and one-shots, with an emphasis on accessibility, session summaries, and preserving the archive. New tools, new tables, same love of shared storytelling.
